A Warm and Welcoming Experience

If you don't go to Misty Creek for the wine, you definitely need to go for the experience. One of the newest Yadkin Valley wineries, Misty Creek, situated in the beautiful rolling green hills of Mocksville, NC, is run by the Nichols family, the charming owners of which will welcome you into their tasting room with open arms. As soon as we rolled in the door Barry extended his hand and welcomed us, asking us where we came from - genuinely happy to see us and have an opportunity to socialize with visitors after a hard week's work in the fields.

Barry's wife Marge happily chatted away about their days on the fields (she would go from vine to vine, picking weeds from her golf cart). They're a charming couple, and you can feel the excitement and passion they have for their trade.  While you try their first bottling of wines (yes, they're proud to release their first wines this year), they'll tell you all about Misty Creek and how it came to be.

The Nichols' family purchased their 56 acres of land back in 2000, with a dream to start a Yadkin Valley winery. The year of this writing they had their first bottling, and their pride shows in their smiles.

Check out our review of their 2006 Merlot, and if you're in NC, Misty Creek is one you don't want to miss!
