My Account

When you first login, you will be taken to your account page.  On this page you will see a listing of tabs:

Account Tabs

The view tab (the default selection) will show you your profile. Click the edit tab to modify your profile. You can change your username and password, upload a picture, and access your personal and wine profiles. The track tab is described next.

Tracking your favorite wine selections

This brings us to the main reason for your membership. You can use the track tab to track comments you've made on any articles - be that a wine review, wine event, etc. Our favorite use of this feature is to add comments to wines we like - we then have them readily available when we want to remember what wines we like, and by clicking on each link on the track page, we can access the comments we made when we tasted the wine.

creating wine reviews

If you want to review a wine that has not yet been reviewed, you can create a wine review by selecting create content -> wine review in your admin menu (your admin menu is located at the very top left of your screen):

Create wine review

This will take you to a page where you can create a wine review by filling in the following:

  • Title - Use a descriptive title that describes your varietal, such as "Seghesio Zinfandel 2006"
  • Categories - Categorize your wine so it can be found easily later by choosing its varietal, color, and blend.
  • Wine Info - Next, fill in the wine's varietal, year, vineyard, geographic origin, and price. If you're not sure of the price, take a guess.
  • Rating - Rate your overall impression of the wine on a scale of 1 - 6 stars, with 1 being wet, moldy dog and 6 being orgasmic.
  • Teaser - your wine review will be published on the front page of Rate the Grapes! The teaser is a summary of your review that will appear on the front page.
  • Notes - Here is where you give a detailed review of the wine. Write away to your heart's content!

Page editor buttons

You'll notice a bar of page editor buttons when you create a wine review:
