What Wine Did You Enjoy Most in 2010?

Here are the results from last month's wine club. Generally the December event includes a lot more wine, white elephant gift swap games and good time with friends, and this year was no exception - including a surprise holiday wine - Hot Mulled Red Wine with an Ecuadorian recipe.

Another feature of our December event is that it always entails people bringing whatever wines they liked most during the year under $15 - no varietal or geographical bias.. just a good old fashioned blind wine tasting - no holds barred! We also has some new members, including our wonderful hosts, Santiago and Laura Bravo. Thanks so much to everyone for being a part of this special night.

Holiday 2010: Tasting Results

Here are the wines we tasted in order of how the group ranked them (favorite to least favorite)

B - Red Rock, 2007, Merlot, $10 (Harris Teeter) - note: this wine also won best of the best in our club's 2008 December holiday extravaganza
D - Fetzer, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2008, $8 (Harris Teeter) - note: this wine also won best of the best in our club's 2009 December holiday extravaganza
A- BrisAndes, 2008, Chile, $10 (Harris Teeter)
C - Duplin Winery - Blackberry, North Carolina, $13 (??)

B & D were close contenders for the top with B winning out D only by the second place votes! So, both are great red wines to have on hand for a great value of $10 or less.
