Tonight we drank Fume Blanc (same grape as Sauvignon Blanc according to our friends at Wine Merchants Gourmet).
What we learned: It was okay... but in the future perhaps Sauvignon Blanc without the limitation of the Fume distinction might be a better plan.
In order of drinking, not ranking:
That's all for this week kids! Hope you had fun - more bacon and raspberries next time perhaps...
Alex thanks for putting together this great website to help us all keep track of our personal tastes and reviews. The tutorial was helpful and hopefully inspiring... although not everyone has the ability to change user's names, right Aaron?!?
NEXT MONTH: October 22, 2007 at Carrie's new house. Bring your favorite Cabernet Franc and something that will go well with veggie-stuffed red peppers.

Fume vs Sauvignon Blanc
I tend to prefer Sauvignon Blanc over Fume Blanc. Sauvignon Blanc has more pronounced flavors of an herbal variety, with grassy and apple flavors, plus olive and a soft, smoky flavor. They can be anything from sweet to dry, but are typically very light.
Stick to the Dry Creek Fume Blanc
PERSONAL NOTES FOR MICHELLE:
The only Fume Blanc that I have ever really liked was one we did not have tonight - Dry Creek. Note to self - stick to that from now on if drinking Fume Blanc...
But if have to pick from these, the Monkey Bay was my favorite.
