European Wines = Less Hangover

Tuscan Villa in Italy

A friend of mine just returned from a trip to a Tuscan villa in Italy ... I have yet to recover from my jealousy! But, the best thing I learned from her trip is what they learned first-hand about drinking 18 bottles of Italian wine a night (yes, that is a bit of an exaggeration but still...) and woke up each morning with no hangover at all!!

Why Italian (and French and Spanish) Red Wine Does Not Create Hangovers

So, upon investigation with the locals, asking questions like, "How can it be that I drank an entire bottle of Chianti by myself last night and I work up with no headache or lingering hangover at all!?!"

And the answer is this:

Italian, French and Spanish wines have less sulfites that any other wine in the world!! AND - Sulfites are what create hangovers! Further, U.S. wines have the highest level of sulfites of any country and thus, create the worst hangovers!
