This week we tasted the very dry French wine varietal Cabernet Franc. There was a surprising NC entry that did even more than surprisingly well - we did not smell or taste it coming... in the past NC wines have always gone to the bottom of the list with a distinctive smell that gave it away but today, nothing made any wine stand too far above the others Although a few did fall to the bottom

C - Shooting Star, Blue Franc, Washington State, 2005, $13
D - Edgewood Estate, 2000, $17
E - Sauvion, Chinon, 2004, $12 (my favorite!)
F(M) - Domaine des Clos. Maurice, Saumur-Champigny, 2005, $13
G(T) - Chateau de Fesles, Anjou, Vielles Vignes, 2002, $11
For the group as a whole, there was a tie for most liked wines - D and F/M. Second place goes to E. Clear last place goes to G/T.
