Washington State Bridgman Cab opens the night

A good time was had by all as we welcomed the Stebbins to our humble little excuse to drink too much wine! Thanks to Nicole and Brian for opening up their home and their bottle of Washington State's Bridgman Cab to open the night with a delicious bang!

Here is the ranking from most loved to least:

  1. B - Earthworks, Barossa Valley, 2006, $18 (City Beverage)
  2. D - Hardy's, 2006, $7 (Total Wine)
  3. E - Greg Norman, 2005, $13 (Harris Teeter - Cab/Merlot blend)
  4. C - McWilliams, 2006, $10 (Total Wine)
  5. A - Nugan Estate, Riverena, 2006, $13 (Whole Foods)

My favorite Ozzie cab

My favorite was also the winner - the Earthworks 2006. The McWilliams 2006 came in a close second, and Hardy's 2006 was manageable while the rest belong in the dump cup Smiling

I'll have to second that the nicely decanter aged Yakima Valley "warm-up" wine took the cake. Thanks for hosting Stebs'!!

My favorite Australian

My favorite Australian Cabernet that we tasted was D - Hardy's, 2006, $7 (Total Wine) but my true favorite of the night was the Yakima Valley Bridgman Cab. After about 2-3 hours opening up in a decanter, it was a great start and end to a decadent night of wines.
