Upping the ante with twice the price

So we FINALLY bit the bullet - paired up to buy more expensive bottles of wine! And it was grand! We spent $30-40 per bottle on some nice California Cabernet Sauvignons and they were tasty.

Many thanks to Ryan as well for opening up his home for our holiday shindig and making such a tasty and filling meal!

Here is the ranking from most loved to least:

  1. A - Honig, 2005, $32 (Total Wine)
  2. C - Simi, Alexander Valley, 2004, $7 (City Beverage)
  3. D - Fetzer, 2006, $7 (Total Wine - this was the ringer wine, great value at an 81 Wine Spectator rating for only $7! If you can find 2005, it is even better)
  4. B - Madrone Knoll, Stags Leap, 2005, $40 (on sale from $50, Total Wine)... this bottle was taken back as we think it was corked!

Happy Holidays to all! See you in the New Year!
